WordPress theme and plugin development, built clean and built to last

Custom themes, blocks and plugins written to WordPress coding standards - fast, secure, easy for your team to edit and documented for whoever maintains them next.

Custom WordPress, without the bloat

WordPress can be fast, secure and pleasant to edit, or slow, fragile and locked inside a page builder nobody understands. The difference is how it is built. We write custom themes and plugins the way WordPress itself recommends: lean code, the block editor for content, design settings in theme.json, every piece of data sanitised on the way in and escaped on the way out, and every form and admin action protected against forgery.

For themes, that means block or hybrid themes with reusable patterns, so your team can assemble new pages from approved designs without breaking the layout. For plugins, it means custom post types and fields for structured content, integrations with your CRM, payment, booking or ERP systems through their APIs, WooCommerce extensions, custom blocks and admin tools that remove repetitive work. When a project needs AI features inside the dashboard, we build on WordPress’s own foundations, such as the Abilities API and, since WordPress 7.0, the built-in AI client.

Every project ships with version control, a staging site, automated checks against the WordPress coding and security standards, and documentation. Already have a site? We can audit it, fix plugin conflicts and performance problems, or take over its maintenance.

Who it is for

Businesses that have outgrown page builders or off-the-shelf themes, agencies and in-house teams that need specialist WordPress developers, and companies that need custom features or integrations no existing plugin provides.

Problems we solve

Sound familiar?

Page builder bloat

Heavy builders and stacked plugins make pages slow and editing fragile.

Plugin roulette

Dozens of plugins, some abandoned, cause conflicts, security warnings and broken updates.

No developer you can trust

The original developer has gone, the code is undocumented and every change feels risky.

Off-the-shelf limits

No existing plugin does what your business needs, so your team works around the website instead of with it.

FAQ

WordPress Theme & Plugin Development: common questions

Do you build block themes or classic themes?

Both. New projects are usually block or hybrid themes, which use the block editor and theme.json and give your team flexible, safe editing. We maintain and extend classic themes when a rebuild is not justified.

Can you build a plugin for something no existing plugin does?

Yes. Booking or quote tools, calculators, member areas, directories, CRM and ERP integrations and WooCommerce extensions are typical examples. We first check whether a well-maintained plugin already does the job, because less custom code is easier to maintain.

Who owns the code?

You do. The code is yours once paid for and lives in a repository you control, with documentation so any competent WordPress developer can work on it.

Can you fix or speed up our existing WordPress site?

Yes. We audit plugins, theme code, hosting and the database, fix conflicts and errors and improve Core Web Vitals, often without a full rebuild.

Do you offer WordPress maintenance?

Yes. Maintenance plans cover core, theme and plugin updates tested on staging first, backups, uptime and security monitoring, and an agreed amount of development time each month.

Can you publish a theme or plugin on WordPress.org?

Yes. We build to the WordPress.org theme and plugin guidelines and can prepare the submission and support you through the review process.
